Inside the ‘Covid Triangle’: a catastrophe years in the making ft.com/content/0e6354… My latest piece, which is this weekend's FT Weekend Magazine cover story. “Early on, it was all ‘we’re in this together’ and ‘the virus doesn’t discriminate’. But then it emerged that it did”.
Last time I saw @seedensemble we were crammed into the Vortex Jazz Club club and had to duck to avoid being hit on the head by the trombone. Cassie Kinoshi and co were still very spectacular from my sofa. Although, obviously, I'd take the moderate peril of seeing them live.
It's a year since I went to a gig. Of all the things I miss about life before lockdown, live music is very high on the list. I do hope to back Union Chapel London and to see Hallucinogenic Honey and @marthahillmusic before another year is out.
You’re right, I did work at the Financial Times And boy did I get that exchange rate wrong.
In product we're supposed to embrace failure but learning from mistakes is easier said than done. Join Caroline Wilcock, Xuan Zhang and Martin Fallon, who'll be sharing what we have learnt from our failures Financial Times eventbrite.co.uk/e/ft-product-t…
It's a wrap 🎉👏🏽🚀🔥 Incredible work by the Life at FT team with insightful key takeaways and thoughts. There were great questions at the end, too! A huge thank you to everyone who joined and made the event a success 🙌🏽 Until next time 🎩 #FTProduct
I really enjoyed talking to randy silver @indieweb.social/@randysilver and lily smith about how Financial Times does new product development. As ever, talking about a problem helps you understand what you know and where you have more work to do.
Some quite brilliant and alarming work by Financial Times's Aleksandra Wisniewska @aendrew Emma Lewis Caroline Nevitt Madhumita Murgia India Ross and @[email protected] on how companies and states are using facial recognition. Also, I learnt I can't stop a car with my face. ig.ft.com/emotion-recogn…
Stunning thought provoking film by Juliet Riddell, @[email protected] and many other brilliant people. Financial Times does heart stopping drama.
The sun _always_ shines on Financial Times rounders. But having not seen the team in 16 months I’d happily do this in the rain.
Two nights in a row Roundhouse. Laura Marling yesterday and Villagers tonight. Too much excitement.
I could not be more pleased for JK and Financial Times. I can't wait to see what they achieve together.
