It is not discussed enough how a disproportionate number of the October 7th victims were people working towards peace. The peaceniks in the kibbutzim: living on the border precisely because they spent their lives working towards peace. Beautiful young idealists such as Hersh.

At Hersh Goldberg-Polin's funeral his family makes no calls for revenge. They could be forgiven if they did. Instead, they speak of their love for Hersh. His curiosity. His desire to understand people. His convictions for peace. They are the best among us. So was he.
