Hashtag Police 👮🏾 Cecil Yongo Agent 47 It's an affirmative action seat, which means more women in governance is not only a means to an end but also an end in itself. Gender issues are not the preserve of woman representatives, so why is that seat the sole elective position targeted for elimination?

Nothing that offers more evidence of how much civic education in Kenya is failing than the constant inability for even otherwise well informed people to understand what the Woman Rep position is for.

If you don’t really have anything else to do with your life, repeatedly getting 10k likes on your tweets & being the centre of national conversation can drive you nuts. Sooner or later you’ll be ready to say anything to remain that ‘important’

It's good to tell us what Raila's vision is, that he's a Pan-African, Afro-optimist, etc. But what is he bringing to the AUC Chair position in tangible terms? Why is the campaign barely codifying his record of achievements, expertise, etc.? Kutuuzia vision is not enough.

Should AI be aligned with human preferences, rewards, or utility functions? Excited to finally share a preprint that Micah Carroll Matija Franklin Hal Ashton & I have worked on for almost 2 years, arguing that AI alignment has to move beyond the preference-reward-utility nexus!

Also saw that the Public Service Conmission has said (in new regulations?) that PSs could be fired for failing to ensure diversity in their ministry teams. These are hugely welcome steps in the right direction!

The audacity of a white man is truly unparalleled. Your ancestors kill millions, steal huge tracts of land, almost entirely take away so many generations’ agency but you still feel confident enough to post something like this. What a shithead
