Any Labour MP who votes with the government to remove the winter fuel allowance from millions of pensioners or indeed, abstains from voting, are putting tribal party politics above their own constituents and common decency. They should vote with principles rather than cowardice.

Labour said they’d freeze energy bills. Lie. Labour said they’d protect pensioners. Lie. Labour said they’re on the side of motorists. Lie. Labour said they wouldn’t increase taxes on working people. Lie. This Labour govt is rotten to the core.

BREAKING: After a Labour Party report showed that cutting the Winter Fuel Allowance could kill 4,000 pensioners, Sir Keir Starmer has vowed to do everything in his power to punish any MP who votes against his bill x

#WinterFuelAllowance It seems unconscionable for the Government, especially a Labour Government, to countenance the hazard of pensioners freezing to death or contracting respiratory infections requiring admission to A&E which will cost more than a negligible ÂŁ300 winter allowance

I can attest to this. On multiple occasions I have been called by panicking constituents scared to leave the house due to bailiffs banging on the door making untrue threats. On at least two occasions, it was a council error and no tax was even due!

Here is Labour’s new MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central Gareth Snell promising (before the election) to vote against the cutting of pensioners’ Winter Fuel Allowance and protect the pensions triple lock.

Considering John Merry was on the Constitution Review Group, he should know that: “A point of order may only relate to an alleged breach of these Council Rules of Procedure or the law.” A request to change seating position in order to hear better is not a point of order.

Who fancies Landlord Licensing? manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m… Absolutely ludicrous that a Salford City Council Scrutiny Panel dealing with a call-in had no legally qualified officer present nor available for a ruling, and that, despite my citing the relevant legislation (s.9FA(9-10) LGA

.Cllr Walters speaks about the recently formed Unwhipped Group - called by Paul Dennett a "coalition of convenience." Mr Walters hits back at Labour division over winter fuel cuts. He suggests Salford's MP - who lost the Labour whip - could consider joining the Unwhipped Group.
