Once again: the CDR-related changes in the new #COP28 GST-text. Wording on "abatement and removal technologies" is the same, but the year 2030 disappeared. The last part of the sentence ("substition of unabated FF in energy systems"), new text, does not really fit with CDR /1

In short, #COP28 text as it stands, softens the stance on fossil fuels compared to previous COPs text and the GST technical assessments 6/6

Interesting to see high public support for a shift towards local energy systems. This evidence does not fit with policy narratives (like NIMBYism) that assume all everybody wants is an energy system that is 'out of sight, out of mind'. Policy makers take note! ExeterEnergy
