Nicolson Street has almost the same conc' of nitrogen dioxide as Queensferry Road, even though there are almost 30,000 more vehicles/day on Queensferry Road. 2,155 buses and taxis/day passed through Shandwick Place and it measured 28µg/m3 - the same as Queensferry Road.

Edinburgh's LEZ was created to reduce pollution below the legal standards (turn the red dots green). Covid resulted in a huge drop in NO2 and ALL dots were green in 2022 - 2 years before the LEZ became active. The LEZ was redundant. So why did CEC press ahead with the LEZ?

Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in Shandwick Place was higher than the NO2 measured on the Queensferry Road (white text). Can the 2,155 buses/taxis in Shandwick Place really be more polluting than the 37,600 mixed vehicles in Queenferry Road?

The highest concentrations of nitrogen dioxide in Glasgow's LEZ (2022) were measured on Hope Street/Gordon Street, at locations that are limited to buses and taxis - so it's not the cars.

Perception is a big problem in the environment sector. Too many people in influential positions have preconceived ideas that are based on misinformation.

Edinburgh Council told us "..pollutants, including nitrogen dioxide are higher than the legal standard" (Screen shot August 2023) and this justified a diesel surcharge for residential parking permits. But council monitoring showed pollution was below all legal standards in 2022.

Edinburgh Council: "...a city centre Low Emission Zone (LEZ) would reduce harmful emissions" (references to meeting standards have been removed). But, a study of the benefits of reducing pollution in city centres concluded "will likely have a minimal impact on public health".

Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in Linlithgow High Street was 20 µg/m3 in 2023. West Lothian Council has decided it is safe to remove the monitor. NO2 in Townhead (Glasgow) was even lower (16 µg/m3), yet the area has been included in Glasgow's Low Emission Zone. Inconsistent approach

Dundee's Low Emission Zone was created to reduce pollution below the legal limits. Red dots = pollution is exceeding the legal limit for nitrogen dioxide. Green = pollution below the legal limit. Measurements for 2022 show pollution did not exceed the legal limits.

When you compare vehicle type/day with the figures above, you will see that some vehicles produce a lot more pollution than others. Example: 17,358 vehicles/day - 736 buses/coaches are responsible for 25% of the NO2 and 218 HGVs 19%. 954 vehicles account for 44% of the NO2.

Untruth piled upon untruth. This is the results of an auction process started by the Tories in March. Their 2023 auction round produced no deals because the subsidies were not big enough. So they increased the subsidises for the 2024 round. Hence the take up under you, even

Scott Arthur MP (Edinburgh South West) 🌍🌈🌹 Scott, why are you commenting on this, you are an MP for Edinburgh SW, Corstorphine is NOT in your constituency and you are no longer on Council. That aside when will all this data be made available for scrutiny?

Plot of nitrogen dioxide measured on Prince's Street (Debenhams façade). NO2 was falling steadily until 2019, as buses were upgraded. There was a large drop in 2020 (due to Covid). NO2 conc' have levelled out now all buses are LEZ compliant.

Interesting results - 2 out of 3 voters do not support any increase in fuel duty, even if it's ring-fenced for pothole repairs. I'm inclined to think it's due to a lack of trust & faith in politicians to deliver on "pledges/promises". Do you agree?

I will share something later which has caused a lot of tears /anxiety having been lied to by a garage, putting me in a really difficult position over the truck, but I realise that there are some good people in the world after all, and I look outside and realise how lucky I am 🙋🏼‍♀️
