#elmagchat The big lie about the teacher shortage is that all that matters is money. Bux are necessary but insufficient. Teachers demand respect and safety - physical and psycholgical. Also professional learning and collaboration - two things that were destroyed in thepast

#elmagchat. . Education can change quickly - COVID demonstrated that. If it’s a matter of health and safety, we can change quickly. The question is this: Will literacy and education suchess be a health and safety issue?

For immediate change, we need to consider our profession as "first responders" - it's a health and safety issue - not time for dumb five year plans. We need to support change NOW. #elmagchat. .
