Coach Hayes leads a coed pyramid style exercise program. The exercises are inline with the components of the physical fitness test coming in October

Coach Hayes leads the class in paper/rock/scissors ball which teaches gross motor coordination skills throwing and catching; with a twist if you get put out of the game you compete with an opponent from the opposite team in a game of paper/rock/scissors.

This week students published their argumentative essays on the topic: Should animals live in the zoo or jungle? Students had strong opinions about this topic after reading The One and Only Ivan and researching local zoo care. EastElementary

September Engineering Design Choice Board was a hit! These boys teamed up and created a bonfire. Students could only use 3 materials of their choice. These kiddos knocked it out of the park! They even made marshmallows on a stick!#TeamWork Cullman City BOE EastElementary

After reading a biography on Louis Braille, students used his braille code to write and decipher secret messages. Then they wrote an opinion writing on if they thought it was difficult for Louis to create his writing system. EastElementary

In math we made arrays with Cheez-Its to solve multiplication problems. We also drank RC Colas to remind us of our rows and columns. EastElementary
