StarlightMcKenzie Therein lies the problem - our actual evidence as teachers is dismissed as anecdotes because we canβt actual give dates and times due to confidentiality. So we are just dismissed as not telling by the truth.

A mother on BBC Scotland News this morning complained she hated the term 'challenging behaviour' as it was just her child 'expressing herself'. She wasn't talking about an educ setting but we see this everyday. What of the staff & other children facing this behaviour? Scottish Government

However, Scot Gov have a draft bill suggesting that it will be just a newly branded SQA (same leadership) and a new independent inspectorate (probably a rebrand as well). Β£15 million for no reform, just rebranding.

You can say do this, do that, but without acknowledging the lack of resources (people) and the pressure of inspection, itβs condescending to say the least! Inspections arenβt about kids just targets! π
We submitted a FOI request to South Lanarkshire Council asking: βIn the last 5 years, how many NQTs secured a permanent post after their probationary year?β Their response? A bill for Β£3,400, claiming it would take 250 hours of staff time to retrieve this information

I'm increasingly concerned that as we stand here at the tip of an enormous iceberg it is only going to get worse for learners and staff alike. How long can we sweep the mess under the carpet before we trip over it?

Teachers are parents too. We need to move away from teachers versus parents rhetoric, itβs all our childrenβs futures that are at stake here and Scotlands future workforce.
