If you're attacking firefighters or stopping them doing their jobs you're not "saving our children". If you injure a firefighter or damage a fire engine, you are directly responsible for endangering children. Injured firefighters with damaged fire engines can't save lives.

These are dangerous times. The workers’ movement must offer solidarity to our Muslim brothers & sisters, and to refugees of whatever creed or colour. We must also organise to physically defend ourselves against the fascists, who have historically always targeted trade unions.

FBU presence at the protest in Nottingham last night as rumours circulated about a planned far-right attack in our community. 300+ good people of Nottingham turned up in opposition to the 7 far right morons turned up. We are many, they are few.

FBU warned about risk from cladding fires 17 years before #Grenfell. We raised issues re ‘Stay Put’ from 2007 after a fatal fire in Stevenage. All warnings ignored by those responsible. Firefighters then placed in impossible position at subsequent incidents. The basic problem is

The Grenfell inquiry shows residents and first responders were failed by construction firms, central government, and the London Fire Brigade's management. We've consistently highlighted the risks of cladding since 1999, and we will continue to do so today.
