I absolutely stand with Women's Aid on this. No discussion of misogyny and MVAWG around what happened in Southport in the vast amounts of media ‘discussions’.

PCC Donna Jones has released a bizarre statement saying the “only way to stem the tide of violent disorder” is for govt to see them as political protestors with a just cause “Arresting people… is treating the symptom not the cause” She deleted the statement but it’s here

I am staggered by the recent UK violence, but also by the public discourse which isn't framing this as male violence/racism/terrorism, but rather as 'protest'/'reasonable concerns' & 'thuggery': a lens reserved for violence of white men. White supremacist patriarchy in action

Following a week of attacks on Muslims and Black and minoritised people, we remain deeply concerned by the violence and its impact on survivors, as well as the specialist services that support Black and minoritised survivors. Read our latest statement: womensaid.org.uk/womens-aid-iss…

Good to see this new and important contribution to thinking about the Barnahus model, and learning from its development to date.

After the far-right riots in the UK, there's been little discussion about the role of masculinity, despite them being dominated by men. One of the few people shedding light on this is Dr Elizabeth Pearson, and we're lucky to have her on episode 45 of #NowandMen! now-and-men.captivate.fm/episode/uk-rio…

A law I helped create was the reason Giselle’s husband was caught. It exposed the stomach churning abuse of his wife. I have received hundreds of messages over the last 48hrs about it. Here’s how I feel: 🧵

I wonder if "tackling knife crime at its roots" will lead to seeing that for many young peope the issue isn't violence "knocking on people's doors" but rather, violence in the home from the outset #DomesticViolence

New book delivery! Always mixed feelings when approaching reading a text which crosses over one's personal and professional selves. The curiosity for research, self-discovery, & a critical eye on the objectification of child survivors through making them/us research subjects.
