New from recent #radonc grad Dr Kathryn Ries Tringale: Over HALF of spine MRIs in pts with cancer ordered for back pain had cancer related findings & most findings (77-89%) were new/progressive. Total spine MRI increased odds of capturing new disease. 🩻journals.lww.com/spinejournal/a…

This study led by Dr Suzanne Wolden Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is the largest, most recent analysis of the efficacy & safety of #IORT in #pedcsm pts with relapsed or refractory #neuroblastoma. ☢️🧠Neurosurgery Publications: This Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center retrospective review of 102 consecutive pts treated with spine reirradiation. In pts with extensive disease involvement, re #SBRT of spine metastases with 40 Gy in 5 fractions seems to be safe & effective. journals.lww.com/neurosurgery/f…

In Journal of the @NCCN - we analyzed #medicare data to estimate usage patterns for hypofractionated #radiotherapy for elderly pts with 🧠 tumors and found interesting differences in use by site of care. Active CNS 🧠 disease is a major challenge for #lymphoma pts planned for CAR T cells. CNS bridging #radiotherapy can rapidly cytoreduce these high risk pts.
