Medication didn’t work so the GP has said I need to be admitted and has called an ambulance. So now it’s just a waiting game for it to arrive. She’s referred me to the medical consultant on duty but I don’t really know if that means anything and suspect A&E will still discharge

Still in hospital. Gastro said they would hopefully come today. Fingers crossed they take the same approach of listening as the other doctors have.

Gastro haven’t been but have asked for some tests doing. Things have got worse so the doctor today has added IV glucose fluids and IV vitamins and is doing a referral to the nutrition team to discuss feeding tubes.

I’m now on the gastro ward and in my own room which is amazing as the shared bay was not good physically or mentally. I got to speak to a gastro doctor for the first time today. The mri got cancelled when I was down there as I couldn’t keep the liquid down. Endoscopy tomorrow 🤞🏻

Dietitian came today and agreed with the doctors I need an NJ feeding tube. It should be placed tomorrow (if it doesn’t it won’t be till Tuesday or Wednesday due to bank holiday weekend).

Positive is I got taken back to endoscopy yesterday and the NJ tube now works, I’ve had the first day of feed which is slow to avoid refeeding syndrome. Bad news is I’m in a shared bay again and even after just a few hours it’s making my symptoms awful. I hope I can go home soon.

Tube blocked so no nutrition over the weekend. I managed the first two days of slow increase of feed and that’s it. Didn’t get anywhere near a full amount

Tube got put in late yesterday afternoon just before endoscopy closed and feed started about half 6. Today the nutrition team should finally be coming to see me. I’ve been here 3 weeks and they haven’t yet when really everything will be their decisions.

Nutrition team came yesterday and were really good. Planning for discharge with the NJ feeding tube either the end of this week or beginning of next week. A huge relief that I’ll be back at home in a safe environment
