This is great. So, can we get a commitment to bring back the White House Science Fair? Just imagine Kamala Harris and Tim Walz walking the floor.

Amazing that this exists. The lack of real-time data is a huge gap and area for policy innovation. For example, why don’t we have real-time information on whether kids are coming to school (given rise of student-information systems, a lot of daily data exists).

Great thread and article on how market shaping can help deliver the innovation society needs. And thanks for the quotes from Market Shaping Accelerator (MSA) and Center for Global Development work. For more examples and discussion join us tomorrow Sept 9 cgdev.org/event/accelera…

Kudos to Project InnerSpace and UKDayOne on putting this together, including the subsurface data on where in the UK has highest geothermal potential for the new tech that is emerging.

Congress can shoot two birds with one stone by modernizing foreign STEM talent pathways: supercharge our emerging tech competitiveness and reduce deficits by hundreds of billions of dollars. budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2024/1/…

It was so fun to judge this. As @parthion said to me afterwards, the competition highlighted the catalytic potential of designing well-thought AMC ideas - rather than waiting for governments or donors to ask.

Introducing PaperQA2, the first AI agent that conducts entire scientific literature reviews on its own. PaperQA2 is also the first agent to beat PhD and Postdoc-level biology researchers on multiple literature research tasks, as measured both by accuracy on objective benchmarks

Right out of a horror movie. I hope the bipartisan push to reform the organ donation system continues to dig, because we haven’t reached the bottom yet. wsj.com/us-news/organ-…

We had a lot to announce, but want to highlight we're building a PaperQA2-version of Wikipedia covering the human proteome. The 240 articles that were graded by experts as better than existing Wikipedia are already viewable - we're generating the rest over the next few weeks!

If you are a school board member (or concerned parent or educator), good thing to ask about (are filters installed; being replaced on schedule).

If you can do the job, you can get the job. If done well, this can help government in two ways: (1) allow more talent that doesn’t check the post-secondary box, and (2) allow searches of technical talent to focus on their actual expertise (eg time in industry, work product).
