Happy birthday to an ex Liverpool FC midfielder David Thompson who turns 47 today! Thommo was born in Birkenhead and started his career at #LFC, he went through the ranks to make his 1st team debut in 1996 and he made 56 appearances for the club before moving to Coventry in 2000.

25 years ago today: 19-year-old Mali defender Djimi Traore made his official debut for Liverpool FC, as he took part in a 5-1 hammering of Hull City in the League Cup. Erik Meijer scored his only two goals for the Reds and Danny Murphy scored 2 aswell, including his debut goal.
