Economics doesn't come naturally to the human mind. And it's not just a left-wing thing. Notice that the vast majority of conservative voters also dislike dynamic pricing.

Election discourse can unfortunately bring out the worst in some people. If polls don’t favor your candidate, it’s not right to take that frustration out on dedicated individuals who are working hard to provide quality coverage for free.

This is a turnout operation that is entirely alien to those of us in solid red/blue states. You'd never see something like this in LA county. A nation wide popular vote would completely change the game.

The empty chair gimmick wouldn’t land here. You can’t just come up with your own debate and claim the other party didn’t show up.

The moralization of economics has been detrimental to policy debate. Instead of talking about the most efficient ways to increase living standards we’re stuck debating whether that minimum wage worker is doing a job that “deserves” $20/hr.

The Silver model has its issues but unlike the 538 model we have access to methodology details that allow us to critique it.

He’s been a bit weird with his selection of polls. There doesn’t appear to be any logical reason Harris’s odds should be dropping so quickly. In my opinion the 538 model overestimates her and the Silver model underestimates her.

the reason adding housing supply reduces prices while adding labor supply does not reduce wages is because a house does not buy things. every worker is also a consumer, every boost in labor supply is also a boost in labor demand

The 13 keys are ridiculous. In 2016, the guy retroactively said he was predicting the Electoral College not the popular vote. This was the opposite of what he said in 2000. Most of the keys are opinion based, you can’t consistently assess a candidate’s charisma or scandals.

This is also why adding labor supply doesn’t increasing housing prices in a healthy market. Yes, people need homes but they also build homes.

If a bakery closed 2 1/2 months after the lockdowns started it was never going to survive the pandemic. It's objectively bad that businesses failed but to say red and blue state governors didn't have very similar policies at the time is revisionist.

The polls are so close I fear that whatever the result is pollsters will face backlash for being “wrong” again.

For context they allegedly knew they were accepting millions in shadow money to profess specific pro-Russian opinions on their shows. Outside of this being a violation of journalistic ethics, there is a base level of suspicion any individual would have in this scenario.

For every ~10,000 guns in circulation the U.S. has 1 gun death This is better than France or Switzerland. We’ve optimized gun safety, officers and mental health outreach won’t change much. The only way left to effectively reduce gun deaths is to reduce the number of guns.
