I don't think PIs fully comprehend the value of grad students. Three years unpaid labor (while on training grant) and then 2+ years of very cheap labor. Grad students rarely leave their lab because they need their degree at the end and depend on recs.

I would like to reiterate how dehumanizing it is to fill out any medical credentialing application. To have to prove my existence as safe in medicine because I am bipolar.
