During today’s INSET training we issued long service award badges to staff in increments of 5 years. We even had someone someone receive a 30 years service award and our longest serving member received 35 years! #Braysbelonging #Recruitmentandretention #Valued

One maaaasssiiiiive positive from the Big Listen Response is that OFSTED calls will only come on a Monday, with inspections only being on Tuesday and Wednesday. How many staff have had agonising weeks until Wednesday lunchtime just waiting for a call that could come any second?

My favourite moments of the first few days have been the quiet moments, crouched next to a child, looking at their work together, seeing the infinite potential in their young minds and making sure they feel safe and seen and happy. Love a new school year.

Ashley Booth Loved this idea and as a staff we decided to do 30 second videos. They were warm and welcoming. Parents / children loved it! Thanks for the prompt. πŸ‘πŸ»

Not even a week back and I think I've spoken to half of my parents in my class and told them how wonderful their kid is. Best piece of advice from my mentor. Loads of great reasons to do it but it shows you care and it makes them happy.

First whole class reading lesson on Holes with my new class today - really looking forward to it. Probably my favourite text to read with children.

My ultimate first world problem is that every day the freeze icon covers my date on the left hand side of the board. An open call to IWB makers to make the freeze icon moveable.

1st mystery delivery of the term from A New Chapter - Children's Bookstore and look at these! My Y4s are now halfway through the incredible Llama Out Loud, and it's made a *huge* difference taking a moment to summarise the plot so far, before starting and finishing story time each day. Ashley Booth has suggested this before; it really ensures the plot is accessible to all.

Every single year someone in my class does something daft but low key funny and every single year I respond 'that's a paddling' and every single year they simply do not understand the reference.

Ashley Booth It’s great. Best feature is you can click specific question types, then β€˜new’, and it will then *only* show those question types for however many questions you want. I use it all the time in y4.

Thank you A New Chapter - Children's Bookstore! My Y5 book club is ready to go! I went through the blurb and read the EPIC prologue to them on Friday and they cannot wait to get started. And I can't wait to read this all over again! A.F. Steadman
