Technically, you're right. Praying to Mary is not an obligation, but praying to Mary helps a lot. Technically that Exodus 20 passage is part of the first commandment, so if Mary is not a goddess, images are not forbidden. And 1 Timothy 2:5 can't mean you only pray to God alone
