One-third of women live under abortion bans that jeopardize their well-being and fundamental freedoms. That’s unacceptable. A woman’s choice to seek out reproductive health care must be hers alone. It’s time to get the government out of the doctor’s office.

Every New Yorker deserves a government that works for them. That’s why I spent this week working to protect your SNAP benefits, strengthen our democracy, and give kids access to mental health care in school. See my work in #NY10 below 👇

On this day 104 years ago, the 19th Amendment finally codified a woman’s right to participate in our democracy. The triumph of the suffrage movement inspires us to continue fighting to expand access to the ballot and ensure our country is representative of all Americans.

.Office of Rep. Nicole Malliotakis and I introduced legislation that will more than double the number of long-term mental health care beds covered by Medicaid. Our bill will save lives, reduce homelessness, make our communities safer, and get NYers the care they need. Read more 👇

From bills to refund checks and more, functioning mailboxes are non-negotiable. Yet, NYCHA residents have dealt with broken mailboxes for far too long. Fixing these issues is a top priority. Let my team know of issues at your NYCHA development below: goldman.house.gov/services/help-…

Martin Luther King Jr.'s March on Washington was a watershed moment in the history of our country. 61 years later, we must protect the progress of the Civil Rights Movement and push to become a more perfect union. Passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act is a critical step.

69 years ago, fourteen-year-old Emmet Till was lynched by an all-white mob in Mississippi solely because he was black. Emmett's murder was hate – plain and simple - and hate has no place in America. We must continue to stand up to hate in all its forms.

Kids deserve to be happy, healthy, and supported wherever they are, and school is no exception. I will continue working to ensure that our public schools receive the resources they need to combat the mental health crisis and help kids thrive.

From GOP officials stoking falsified claims of election interference to passing laws designed to depress voter turnout for partisan gain, Republicans are waging a war on our democracy. We must expand ballot access and ensure our government represents all Americans.

Last year New York City refunded nearly $30 million in stolen SNAP benefits. That authority expires at the end of September. We cannot allow fraudsters to deprive New Yorkers of the nutrition they need. I am fighting to ensure Congress extends this lifeline to working families.

Sixty years ago, the Food Stamp Act founded the food nutrition program now known as SNAP. Today, one in seven New Yorkers rely on SNAP to put food on their table. Despite Rs constant attempts to cut SNAP, I will always fight to expand and protect this essential program.

What should have been a joyous first month back at school has turned into a nightmare for the students, parents and teachers at Apalachee High. They're supposed to be getting ready for the new school year, not funerals. Just devastating. My heart goes out to everyone in Winder.

For the nearly 3 million New Yorkers who rely on SNAP, the inability to recover stolen benefits could mean the difference between putting food on the table and going hungry. We owe it to working families to ensure states can use SNAP funding to reimburse victims of SNAP theft.

It was a pleasure meeting with NYPD 72nd Precinct Deputy Inspector Suarez to discuss public safety in Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace and ways to better integrate NYPD into our communities. I'll continue to work with precincts across our district to ensure residents in #NY10 are safe.

From cubicles to construction sites, language barriers present yet another obstacle for people just trying to safely do their jobs. I joined Adam Schiff’s bill to reduce language barriers in the workplace and ensure employees understand their workplace rights.

Ginni Thomas has received jobs, gifts, and vacations from special interests with business before her husband, Justice Clarence Thomas. It’s no wonder she doesn’t want him to have to adhere to a binding code of ethics. We can’t let this blatant corruption go on any longer.

For nearly 60 years, Project Renewal’s 3rd Street Men’s Shelter has helped New Yorkers with substance abuse problems work towards sobriety, housing, and employment. We must continue to support their work, including by expanding Medicaid to cover this type of treatment.

.Educational Alliance’s Sirovich Senior Center is a community fixture offering activities, social services, and friendship to elderly New Yorkers. Their staff gave a fantastic tour, and I will continue working for every senior’s right to retire with this level of dignity and respect.
