New from recent #radonc grad Dr Kathryn Ries Tringale: Over HALF of spine MRIs in pts with cancer ordered for back pain had cancer related findings & most findings (77-89%) were new/progressive. Total spine MRI increased odds of capturing new disease.

The EORTC is conducting a consensus project to establish a consensual definition of resectability in stage III NSCLC. Bulky N2, invasive N2, N3-combinations were considered unresectable and should NOT be operated even after neoadjuvant chemo/RT outside clinical studies. #WCLC

Dr. Perez will be missed greatly! He conducted RTOG 73-01 randomized study and established 60 Gy as SOC for medical inoperable stage II/III NSCLC and this remains the standard RT dose we use 43 years after his paper published in Cancer in 1980 when I was a college student.
