Congrats to CRI's Javier Garcia-Bermudez lab for their American Cancer Society Research Scholar award to test whether blocking tumor glycosaminoglycans could result in new #cancer therapies that target metastasizing, lipoprotein-hungry tumors. #relentlessdiscovery
A great choice for this award! Noriaki is an outstanding scientist and a leader in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate skeletal development. His careful and thoughtful work makes the field better. Congrats Noriaki Ono !
Check out our Spotlight article, written by grad student David Sokolov, highlighting two excellent papers describing purine salvage as an important metabolic resource for tissues and tumors. Impressive work from DeBerardinis Lab, Min Ni, and Gerta Hoxhaj Lab labs! authors.elsevier.com/a/1jPbE3vVUPRm…

Hey Sarah Blaskovich , when will Catch open?
Contrary to how tumors operate while still in the kidney, metastatic kidney cancers rely heavily on mitochondrial metabolism, according to new research from HHMI Investigator Ralph DeBerardinis (DeBerardinis Lab) & colleagues Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern. hhmi.news/3X7db5U
Congrats as well to DeBerardinis Lab and Tom Mathews for a huge grant to continue to build the outstanding metabolomics facility in Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern. Ralph has more mass spectrometers than anyone I know!
We Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's are really excited to announce new early and mid career faculty positions in developmental and stem cell biology in our new center led by Dr. David Traver David Traver. The center focuses on understanding fundamental principles of development 1/4
Congrats DeBerardinis Lab on your expanded leadership role. In addition to directing CRI’s Genetic and Metabolic Disease Program, Ralph will now also lead the McDermott Center, significantly expanding #genetics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Together, CRI’s GMDP and the McDermott Center will
Congratulations Ralph! We look forward to your expanded leadership at UTSW, adding the directorship of the McDermott Center to your ongoing leadership of the Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern Genetic and Metabolic Disease Program to more boldly grow genetics and metabolism research at UTSW!
