First side done on Mk2 TSO 5960. A super finish given it was done outside !

Newly acquired Mk3 12049 was today delivered by Reid’s and was waiting unloading whilst in the distance Mk3 FOD 11090 was having some final jobs finished off before that disappears for some filming work next week.

A little something we've been working on... following the pictures of Mk2 5960 receiving a coat of Intercity livery, 31452 has received the same treatment. In connection with some upcoming movie work, ERS always had long term plans to put the loco in this livery. It's not perfect

With generator coach 96371 back for its summer holidays, the opportunity was taken to run it up and power the mk3 set which is due to leave us next week. With 8 Mk3 and a Mk2 powered up with aircon running, the power draw is quite something but the gen van is more than capable.

As preparations continue for passenger use, the first vehicle (TSO 12091) has been reconfigured with bays of 4 seats and lining up with the windows! The air conditioning in this vehicle is particularly effective and there is also a plug socket and USB ports at each table

Today was the first time a pair of ERS branded rakes passed each other on the mainline near Bainton. 47772 was in charge of 5M60 heading to Castle Donnington whilst 43301/303 worked 1Q01 to Grantham.

We were pleased to welcome Telford Steam Railway to our site to collect some surplus kit. Mk2 5797 had an interior swap for some forthcoming filming and as the seats and shells aren’t recyclable it was great to donate them to another railway organisation.
