They can’t all be great. Tradition sometimes stands in the way of progress. There are streets and roads that align to the circuit that could open up racing and keep the essence of what makes it great. They kept what made Spa special when they changed it for other reasons. #F1

Not sure that’s entirely true, any more than not everyone in F1 would rock IndyCar. The top guys are good enough to race anything well. Being an F1 driver doesn’t automatically elevate you, being fucking quick does, and because F1 is the pinnacle it attracts exceptional talent.

He is many things to many people, but to me Martin Brundle is someone I’m fortunate to call a mate, and one of the very fastest British racing drivers I’ve ever worked with. Happy Birthday Martin!

I try to live by ‘speak as you find’ (although we are all fallible)… And when I worked with BMW in 2020 and ’21, Ralf Schumacher was always courteous, helpful to me. I hope he’s happy with his life now, and I’m pleased for him. Sadly, still in motorsport, it takes courage.

There are few others that ‘electrified’ a grand prix quite like Nigel Mansell. Ridiculously fast when you consider he carried 10kg over Senna and maybe more over Prost. Not always the easiest character, but brilliant entertainment on those Sundays… Happy Birthday Nige!
