Rise and shine VSS Meeting #VSS2024 โ˜€๏ธ This morning Andre Sahakian will present our work on the temporal dynamics of visual working memory, investigating the influence of encoding time on decay. NB: The pattern of findings is well explained by his MoM (Mountains of Memory model).

Do you care about pupillometry? We need to rewrite its history. Now Trends in Neurosciences A rediscovery of the forgotten early wave of pupillometry research โ€“ effort, covert attention, imagery all made visible by 1900 in a fascinating literature. New preprint out! The number of things (or: numerosity) you perceive, is affected by the number of things you were previously exposed to. In this fMRI study led by Liangyou we show that such numerosity adaptation may originate in early visual areas that respond to image contrast.

I couldn't envision a better place to do a PhD! I had a great time here, and still am. They're looking for a PhD candidate who will use EEG & behavioral methods to study visual attention. Feel free to reach out & ask me about the environment/team (I'm not involved in the project)
