In an email commending UCLA Chancellor Gene Block for clearing the encampment, the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles says the violence that occurred there Tuesday night was 'shameful.'

'We condemn it and believe all others must condemn it as well.'

In new statement, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block says 200 protesters were arrested for refusing to vacate the encampment last night.

'The past week has been among the most painful periods our UCLA community has ever experienced,' Block said.
