This week, UC Davis Humphrey Director Karen Beardsley hosted the GIS Skill-Building and Networking Humphrey Fellowship Program Enhancement Workshop in Washington, and taught #HumphreyFellows how to apply GIS tools to their work and learn more about ArcGIS geospatial technologies.

As the Humphrey Fellowship Program celebrates its 45th anniversary, 20 #HumphreyAlumni attended the Global Policy Series in Tanzania 🇹🇿Representing 12 countries with vast interdisciplinary expertise, they discussed challenges and solutions to combat food insecurity throughout Africa 🌍🌾💧

Humphrey fellow Silas Ekesa has a background in wildlife management and working with a local NGO in Kenya to enhance environmental conservation. During his Humphrey Fellowship Program, he worked with YoloBasinFoundation to gain insights into how deeply younger generations appreciate conservation.

Karen Beardsley received a $25,000 grant from the Institute of International Education (IIE) to provide Geographic Information Systems training during a four-day Enhancement Workshop for Humphrey Fellowship Program fellows all over the country.
