National Education Union Great to hear Becky giving a shout out for #mentoring. #Mentors like her really matter. We need more attention to be paid to #retention uonhistoryteachertraining.school.blog/2024/06/11/exp…
This is my list of introductory books for non-academics who want to read about the British empire. Beyond this I'd have long secondary lists of books by top academics who write appealing clear prose like Kirsty Warren, Katie Donington Margot Finn and many others
Really pleased to have been promoted to Associate Professor UoN Education from today, alongside brilliant colleagues. I shall mainly be celebrating by finishing my redrafting of the #mentor handbook for our amazing #historyteacher school based colleagues. #StateSchoolProud #firstgen

Are you involved in #historyteacher #TeacherEducation working with an #ITT #ITE #PGCE #SCITT beginning history teacher this year? Please point them towards this FREE Historical Assoc webinar exploring how they can thrive during their training! history.org.uk/events/calenda… #Mentors
The saddest news. Helen was inimitable. A champion of others & wisest of colleagues. The fulcrum of so much that was good in the #historyteacher & history #ITT community, & an incredible driving force behind relaunch of History Teachers Education Network . Most importantly, she was a dearly loved friend.
Great to hear our #alumni reflecting on their successes in the classroom as an #ECT & how they have continued to grow since their #ITT yr. It's what I was trying to reassure ECTs about in this blog - you don't have to do it all instantly! uonhistoryteachertraining.school.blog/2020/08/10/dis… #Edublogshare
