Today kicks off a HDP program on the role of parliaments in transforming digital economies with Members of Parliament from 12 countries in the Caribbean.

Currently, U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Lee (Rep. Barbara Lee) is speaking about the inclusion of women, youth, and traditionally marginalized groups in the digital economy. HDP is grateful for Rep. Lee, who was the engine behind the initiative that led to this program!

I'm grateful to be among so many of my peers from across the Caribbean discussing digital economies and the importance of ensuring that technologies benefit everyone equally. Digital policies must have a focus on accessibility, affordability, literacy, and equity.

Day 2 of HDP’s program with MPs from the Caribbean will feature sessions on enhancing digital infrastructure, leveraging the private sector for digital growth, and parliament’s role in enhancing cybersecurity.

The final #DigitalEconomy session explored legal drafting, policy implementation and ministry-parliament coordination, with working tables on: 💬Digital Transformation of Gov't Services 💬Harnessing AI to Enhance the Digital Economy 💬Leaving No One Behind in the Digital Economy
