The EALA Committee on Agriculture, Tourism, and Natural Resources led by Hon UWUMUKIZA Françoise, is currently conducting a study visit to the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization KALRO in Kilifi County, Kenya.

The objective of the study visit is to familiarize Members of the Committee on Agriculture, Tourism, and Natural Resources (ATNR) with the functional biosafety structures in place to ensure the safe handling and use of GMO products.

KALRO was established under the Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Act of 2013 to carry out agricultural & livestock research of strategic national significance, and to develop enhanced technologies, information, knowledge, &methods to support the agricultural sector
