Okay #AcademicTwitter: you can pick ONE book to give to someone who is beginning to teach following their PhD in public health. What is the book that will specifically help them build their *teaching* skills?

I'm super-proud to be the editor/curator of this series. Please check out the books. And if you have a book idea that would be a good fit, let me know!

I can respect people arguing for and defending ideas, as long as those ideas do not dehumanize and marginalize. I get suspicious when people viciously, reactively, w/ narrow evidence, defend products using marketing language of those products. This is an epidemic in education.

Who's a good person to write a book for P-12 teachers (someone w/ P-12 background) on a critical approach to anti-bullying--raising questions about common anti-bullying programs (e.g. how they can mask inequity) AND offering a helpful vision for something more transformative?

Who can write a book about service- and community-based learning for an audience of P-12 teachers taking a critical justice-based look at traditional approaches (addressing deficit and savior mentalities) and pivoting to what a justice-oriented approach should look like?

Who else got an email with scholar rankings from ScholarGPS? I was ranked #4 in lifetime scholarship about "literature." I have never in 30 years of scholarship written a book, chapter, or article about literature.

Shoutout to the bad singer parents who sing to their kids anyway. I sing to my daughter each night. Someday she'll realize I'm terrible: off-key, off-rhythm, off. Someday we'll laugh together about my singing. She'll roll her eyes, plead with me to stop. But I never, ever will.
