Yesterday's heatwave in California broke a record in Sacramento that had been set in 1925.

Overview update on the California heat wave expected to peak today:

Record-shattering 46.7°C in Sacramento CA beat the previous record of 43.3°C by a large margin. Note the long observations since 1877.
