After 6 months serving as Force Protection Unit, “Serenissima" amphibious infantry regiment has been replaced by 3rd Bersaglieri regiment. Thanks to “Serenissima" regiment’s women & men, EUTM-S was able to support Somali Security Forces at the best.

EUTM-S MFCdr, BG Zizzari, met with SRCC & Head of ATMIS, Amb. Souef Mohamed El-Amine & ATMIS FCdr, Lt. Gen. Kavuma. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss how to strengthen coordination activities in support of Somali Security Forces to improve peace and security in Somalia.

In the Ceremony Hall of the GDTC, EUTM-S held the closing ceremony of 1stSomali Army Cadet Officer Course. 59 deserving trainees were awarded by EU Ambassador in Somalia, Ms. Johansson and EUTM-S MFCdr Gen. Zizzari and reps of SNA. European Union is beside Somali Institutions.

We are sad to say goodbye to 4 Spanish members of the EUTM-S family. After many months with us, our fellows return to Spain: you have done a formidable job in the Staff & the Training Team: it will not be easy for your replacements to do what you have done. Thanks for everything.

EUTM-S MFCdr, BG Zizzari, visited the Gen. Daghabadan Training Center. Accompanied by GDTC Cdr, he had the opportunity to inspect infrastructure and to observe ongoing training activities. EUTM-S remains fully committed in building up the Somali Security Forces.

The safety & security of EUTM-S personnel takes priority over all tasks within the mandate. In “Silent Thunder” Exercise EUTM-S personnel train to improve their ability to respond in case of an IED attack. When such an event occurs it is basic to be prepared and react in due time

You arrived as a Captain and now we salute you as a Major. It is time to return home after nine months in which we appreciated your commitment and professionalism. Thank you Simone for what you have done in support of the Somali Armed Forces. Have a safe journey home.
