"I have been a subscriber for 50 years and deem this latest blow to the local Herald community a potential death knell. "To management: I implore you to rethink this recent action. Thank you."

"Is there any way you could transform yourself into a publisher who cares about democracy, your community, and good journalism enough to fight against these layoffs rather than be a participant in them?"

"... where will I find the reliable local information that’s so important in our daily lives? "If The Herald goes under, many will never know what they’ve lost over time, but we will."
