As far as I remember, in the last 20+ years, AKD was part of the JVP that supported Rajapaksas’ racist policies and their gov. from 2005. Then, they supported Sarath Fonseka in 2009. Not a great track record. While AKD/NPP policies may have changed in the last few years,difficult

to give a character certificate. Despite, Sumanthiran’s ‘assurances’, we will see if the North and East will vote for NPP.

Recommend watching AKD on Satana. There weren’t many sharp, cutting questions from the journalists. But AKD did have to speak extensively about policies. The section on the energy sector was interesting, esp since AKD would have to deal with India/Adani. youtube.com/live/_lvU_Zb-9…
