Our 2022 farmer training days took place last week. They are valuable to both the farmers and the project team giving all a great opportunity to exchange knowledge on peat management. A big thank you to our host farmers Seamus Fallon, John Colgan, John Lawlor and Wayne Burrell.

Interesting discussions with Hugh Cushnan RPS at sites where FarmPEAT Project are working with landowners to develop an agreed action plan for slowing the flow of water in agricultural drains on peat soils. Thanks to Jim Ryan and Donal Daly for great input!

One of @farmpeat Participant Farmers, Mr. Daniel Curley, taking water level measurements at his farm in Co. Roscommon. This level of farmer engagement is really encouraging and we hope Daniel enjoys learning more about water levels on his peat plots over the coming months

Lovely to be out in the sunshine in the midlands with FarmPEAT participant farmers and agricultural advisors last week. FarmPEAT Project delivered a training workshop on our scorecards focusing mainly on wet grasslands on peat, peatlands and field boundaries.
