On Tuesday, 9 out of 20 courts are not sitting at Snaresbrook Crown Court. We have 60,000 outstanding cases. Victims are waiting years for justice, yet nearly half of that court stands idle. The Lord Chancellor blames barristers for our action. He might look closer to home.

Barristers are self employed and are paid by the state to represent people charged with criminal offences to help ensure trials are fair and that the police and prosecution follow the proper rules.
