After being postponed this summer, it's good to see that the women road race at the Japanese national championships finally took place today and even better, 樫木η₯₯子 won it! Huge congrats, Shoko! πŸ‘πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

It's a bit of old news but important to to know that Team Caja Rural-RGA signed the young Czech sprinter, Daniel Babor for the next two seasons. All his three pro victories came in Turul RomÒniei so I can confirm that he has potential to become a flashy top sprinter. 😎

Modern racing right now is the most exciting since at least two decades, both in Classics and Grand Tours. On the other hand, one of the most boring races I've ever watched were when Dan Martin and Purito Rodriguez used to wait for the uphill sprint, including LBL. πŸ™Š

πŸ‘ 70 km of ITT, 50 of them flat coming before the mountains
πŸ‘ the return of Monte Bondone

πŸ‘Ž no 240 km hilly, classic Giro stage again...

My rating for the 2023 Giro d'Italia route: 9/10.

Stage 20. The last GC battle will take place during the Tarviso-Monte Lussari ITT, 11 km of flat followed by a brutal 7,3 km climb for the first time on the route of Il Giro. I'm not a fan of a MTT being the last GC battle but it worked well for Tour de France in 2020...

Stage 19. The 'tappone dolomitico'. πŸ”οΈ Campolongo-Valparola-Giau-Tre Croci-Tre Cime di Lavaredo. What a beauty. Definitely the kind of stage where everything can change fast, especially the weather. 😬 Hopefully it won't snow again.

Stage 18. Val di Zoldo, a nice combo of 3 climbs in the last 30 km. But knowing what awaits them in the next two days, the riders might keep their energy for that... I hope not.

The route presentation of the 2023 Giro d'Italia is now live here. πŸ’— Let's hope we get a real 'tappone' and 60+ km of ITT. 🀞

After an amazing 30-year career as a pro, the legend finally retired today. The greatest cyclist I've ever met but also the most humble.
Ciao, Davide! πŸ‘‹
