🔥 A pay offer for 2024 would set a minimum maternity entitlement of 26 weeks on full pay for all firefighters and fire control staff.

This is the direct result of pressure by FBU members, who will now vote on the offer.

🚨NEW | Fire employers have made a pay offer to all firefighters and control staff. It includes:

🔥 A 4% pay increase
🔥 Up to a 50% increase in the retainer fee for RDS firefighters: from 10% to 15% in the top rate
🔥 A new minimum maternity entitlement of 26 on full pay

Today #WeRemember firefighter Wilfred McLaughlan, who lost his life in the line of duty at a fire on Oldham Batteries site in 1972.

Misogyny, discrimination and bullying have no place in the fire and rescue service.

Appalling messages sent by the most senior officers in Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service show that these issues go right to the top.

We need systemic change to transform our service.

Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect at work. Everyone should have the opportunity to progress, and feel protected from mistreatment.
