i really can't believe that the fucking internet archive isn't allowed to archive the internet because publishers are mad about shit being free but tech companies can feed all our data to LLMs (petition attached below)

Damn. I have done a lot of research Internet Archive. It houses much content that is ephemeral, definitely not available through my local library or easy to track down online. Basically I think this ruling sets the stage for eliminating libraries (free knowledge) too.

That's correct. Publishers removed '1984' from our library. 🕳️
