“Homo locum ornat non hominem locus” … which I am reliably told (by someone who admittedly failed Latin twice) means “Man makes the place, place doesn’t make the man”. More or less!

Pleased to have this letter published in The Times and The Sunday Times today. We should be championing nature and the bodies that protect it, not attacking them. It's the only route we have to sustainable growth and a healthy economy.

This is what happens when you leave two architects alone in the office on a Friday morning. London's landmark buildings re-arranged as a nativity scene. @WHurst1

Saw The Sphere last week. Undoubtedly very cool when it’s in its natural habitat — i.e. Las Vegas. Would it have the same effect in East London? Not sure. With all the noise it’s making though, I suspect London will want something “Sphere-ish” in time.

It kind of feels like enthusiasm for this project has gone away. No one wants to be the one that stopped it, but everyone reserves the right to say ‘I told you so’ when it all goes bad. architectsjournal.co.uk/news/holocaust…
