My friend and real-life superhero Ruslan has been seriously injured while evacuating civilians near the frontline. He's being treated in Kyiv, where he's had to relocate his wife & daughter. If you can help, this is his sister's Paypal: 👩‍💼Ismailova Olena 📞+380635526484 🌍Ukraine

Russia has launched an absolutely massive aerial attack across the whole of Ukraine. Big explosions in Kyiv, power and water outages reported. All the latest here: kyivindependent.com/explosions-in-…

We cannot allow Russian bombers to be better protected than Ukrainian civilians are. Let's ask ourselves if we are being honest about how much we actually support Ukraine.

I didn’t know Nika personally, but Kharkiv is a small community and I saw her at various events and coffee shops. Last autumn I stood behind her at a Zhadan concert and watched her dance right up against the stage in her vyshyvanka

I wrote about Nika Kozhushko, the incredible young artist who was killed in Russia’s Aug. 30 attack on Kharkiv. Her murder can’t be forgiven. Read at The Kyiv Independent. kyivindependent.com/she-was-the-cu…

A great example both of how much more conscientiously Russia digs fortifications than Ukraine (even on guided tours I’ve never seen anything like this here), but also of how important it is for them to be properly manned and defended by motivated soldiers for them to work.

Recently, a new development in drone warfare has been sighted - the so-called Dragon drones. Ukrainian drones are pouring thermite on Russian positions. This is something different from FPVs and bombers, and from a psychological viewpoint rather terrifying. 1/🧵

Not so long ago, there was public discourse suggesting that the deployment of additional brigades to the Pokrovsk direction wouldn’t make much difference. Yet, here we are, seeing that it does make a difference.

Went into central Selydove this morning. Fairly loud the whole time, two glide bombs, but locals say the shelling and drone activity is less than a week ago. Heard no small arms fire despite being just over a km from the zero. More evidence that the Russian push has turned south.

Anastasia Trofimova not only LIED about being at risk from russian authorities she literally accompanied Kadyrov’s people from Grozny to Bakhmut to as reporter for the NY Times. It is in her byline in the photo on the right.

A devastating loss. David was someone who has done more than almost anyone to keep Ukraine at the top of the agenda in the UK and beyond, and also someone I was looking forward to years of friendship with. All I can say is thank you.
