All about #Biases at #ossym23! Great keynote by famous search&retrieval + AI expert + author Ricardo Baeza-Yates Ricardo Baeza-Yates (Northeastern U.). The talk evolved into a comprehensive lecture covering all concepts of biases in search + recommender systems + methods to tackle them.

The presentations of #alternativeSearchEngines at #ossym23 showed that alternative search engines have a lot to offer and are in many ways superior to the "big" commercial ones. And: only if we use them, they do have a chance to become better and more known!

The 3rd ows.eu Consortium Meeting started! For 3 days the partners of #OpenWebSearchEU are reuniting in Ostrava (Czech Republic) at IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center to discuss updates across all working packages. #OpenWebSearch

This is so #AI fake it makes me vomit. But obviously it just kind of enhances what people like to see. Many „want to live there“ (s. comments). One of the main problems imo is that people do not care + cannot see if it is fake or real. Only few comments point ai fakeness out.
