Roglič admits that yesterday’s bike change was a mistake/he wouldn’t do it again in those circumstances. Also, correction to what I said in yesterday’s The Cycling Podcast: he didn’t change bike at Ancares (although I believe single chainring bike was ready).

This tallies with what I’ve heard: Castrillo to Ineos may not be sealed & Movistar are waiting in wings.

Reports in Italy this morning that Mark Cavendish will race for one more season with Astana. Not true, according to my sources.

Ben O’ Connor appears to have gone AWOL…or at least apparently didn’t realise he still had red jersey & descended to team bus at bottom of final climb, bypassing podium. Hence, podium presentation delayed.

A bit more clarity: O’ Connor says he DID know he had kept jersey but thought podium presentation was 15km & not 500 metres from Covadonga summit, hence descended all the way (& then had to be driven back up). He wasn’t thrilled.
