This is weird. The election is about the next four years. The candidates will be judged on amongst other things, whether they appear capable of doing that job for another four years. Defending his record is one thing, arguing he is the best person for another four is different.

I’m not a political expert but it seems to me that it would be more effective to talk about your own policy platform than go on and on about your opponents.
