There should be public outrage, frankly, over the fact that OB/GYN departments receive only 1% of NIH research funding. OB/GYN and our specialties provide the majority of care and surgery women receive in a lifetime, but ONE PERCENT of the research dollars. This is a crisis.

Abundant scientific evidence backs up the safety of mifepristone and that the REMS aren’t necessary. We’re calling for the Supreme Court to restore mifepristone access to avoid jeopardizing the health of patients across the United States. Read our brief: bit.ly/3L3FIDA

Long before Dobbs, people around the country struggled to access the abortion care they needed. Since Dobbs, things have gotten so much worse. Tomorrow, I will be sharing my experience with Senate as an OBGYN and abortion care giver in Georgia in this devastating legal landscape.

Here in Rhode Island, we will always protect a woman's right to choose and ensure equal access to these crucial health care services. I'm proud to sign the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act into law and include related funding in my budget proposal.

Nakita was a classmate of mine, and an inspiration to all those who knew and worked with her. She deserved better, and was working to improve the lives of all residents and trainees. RIP Dr. Nakita Mortimer.

A great news for IMGs as first time , Tennessee state passed the comprehensive law to bypass residency program to practice in USA 🇺🇸. Published today in NEJM see the key difference in below table. This is particularly important for folks who have completed residency outside USA

Another OB/MFM study in JAMA today: RCT comparing placebo to metformin for DM2 in pregnancy showed no difference in composite neonatal outcome (trial stopped for futility!) but nearly 40% reduction in LGA. Congrats MOMPOD group! jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

"My name is Ghazal, it's a style of poetry in Farsi and I identify with that because my family reads [it]," explains Ghazal Aghagoli’19 MD'24. "When someone takes time to pronounce my name correctly, it acknowledges my Persian culture and sometimes, it even starts conversation."
