This is absolutely horrific. Yet another woman's life stolen by male violence. Rebecca Cheptegei was an exceptional athlete and Olympian. May she rest in peace. Male violence against women and girls is a global insidious scourge and her death is another reminder that misogyny

It gets worse and worse. Gisele Pelicot deserves to see justice.

Fathers, brothers, sons, friends and colleagues. One, whom Gisele recognised, worked in the local bakery: "He was always very polite to me". It is an agony to be cognisant of the depth and scale of men's depravity. Most women can't live with it and prefer the comfort of denial.
