Day #1 of the fall semester at Saint Joseph's College is in the books. 29 students are enrolled in my sport facilities class, one below full capacity. It was a beautiful day on the shore of Sebago Lake. I always enjoy this view from the third floor of Alfond Hall. #blessed

Best wishes to my former student Dr. Julie Hackett, superintendent of schools in Lexington, Massachusetts, for another great academic year. Great things happening in the schools of one of the nation's most historic communities.

Andre Walker, once you decide to leave the A.D. gig, you definitely have a future as a director. Spielberg, Scorsese, Coppola -- watch out!

Thank you to Andrew Marotta for having Dave and me along for today's podcast. We had a great time sharing the stories behind Stolen Seasons: How Maine Sports Survived the COVID-19 Pandemic. Click below to listen to a fantastic conversation.

While in Bangor for our Stolen Seasons "mini-tour", I stopped by the Bangor XC "Proving Grounds" for some photos. This scene is the setting for one of the most powerful stories in our book -- found in Chapter 8. The passion and culture of that 2020 Ram XC team is still present.

t was great seeing my longtime friend and Mattanawcook Academy classmate Ron McComb at the University of Maine on Friday. Ron and I have known each other beginning in third grade. I enjoyed catching up with him and watching the second half of the UMaine/Colgate game.

Three years ago today, I met up with this grizzled guy just west of the Kennebec River while practicing the art of being a "trail angel". A few weeks later Pete Shambo scaled Mt. Katahdin to complete the Appalachian Trail. Great memories of a fantastic day.
