Squash plants are like mile-a-minute vines. They threaded themselves throughout the veg garden and were the very devil to clear up. But they grew some fantastic fruits. grahamthegrumpygardener.co.uk/blogs

I didn't like bonfire night as a child. Tomorrow, I shall be searching around the garden, picking up old rockets and their useless sticks - so I still don't like it. grahamthegrumpygardener.co.uk/blogs

I shall be planting broad beans at the weekend. The problem is mice - they love 'em, so I plant quite deep to keep the little critters away. It also keeps the beans warmer. grahamthegrumpygardener.co.uk/blogs

This is very grumpy but I believe there are more leaves falling this autumn than usual. Mrs GG has a possible solution: the trees have all grown strongly this year so, inevitably, there will be more leaves. Wish I'd thought of that. grahamthegrumpygardener.co.uk/blogs

There really are some awful people around. Our garden drive ends on a public footpath. A few very unpleasant folk think it funny to hang their full dog poo plastic bags on my shrubs and trees. I know what I'd like to do with it - and them!!!
