๐ฃ Glasgow-based Director of Collective Architecture, Chris Stewart, has been elected as the new President of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, for a two year term which begins 29 June 2022.

To mark the holding of COP26, the GIA and chapters of the RIAS produced a collection of maps which document routes to run, walk or cycle, seeking to highlight future sea levels and the impact of climate change on the buildings around us.

As part of our COP26 activities, the GIA teamed-up with the RIBA to deliver a workshop on sustainability and architecture with students at the Glasgow Gaelic School. The workshop explored the impacts of the built environment on climate change.

The planters project was a collaboration between the GIA, Glasgow City Council, Greyfriars Community Garden and Chonk Studio. The planters were positioned along the Biophilic corridor, and adopt the principles of circular economy.
